Kawaii Origami by Chrissy Pushkin is such a sweet, fun, and of course, kawaii origami book! I have been a long time fan of Paper Kawaii on YouTube so I was so delighted to find this book version.
I love that this book comes with 50 sheets of origami paper; it makes a nice gift, and easy to travel with. The papers are good quality and come in a pretty variety of colors, too.
Just like Pushkin’s YouTube channel, the included models and presentations are aesthetically pleasing and elevate your motivation to fold. The diagrammed instructions are clear and easy to understand. Difficulties of the included models range from simple to upper intermediate. I love that most of the models in this book are practical or/and make fun props for playing ”house” by children.
So far I folded 3 things out of this book: Mini Trash Bin, Ice Cream, and Cactus and Pot. It has been so much fun that I’m sure to fold more in the future.
Mini Trash Bin also looks like a house. I plan to draw on it so it’ll look even more like a house:D
Ice Cream is such a cute model, and when you fold this out of the provided papers, it will turn out to be an actual size soft served ice cream! You can make swirl ones too. Wouldn’t it be so fun if you fold a bunch of these and have children play “Ice Cream Parlor” with this model?
Finally, Cactus and Pot are also fun, very recognizable and cute to decorate the house with.
Overall, I’m super happy with the purchase of this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone!
